We talk about some comments on recent posts ‘Entrepreneurs Lead By Example‘ and ‘Facing The Fear of Criticism.’ On the business plan section I talked about putting up a resource for you as an example business plan. I am just making sure that the information I use in it is OK to post (i.e that I have left no one’s details in there!), then I will post it for you. I talk about using ‘Business-in-a-Box‘ and ‘Business Plan Pro‘ both resources that I use regularly.
I will be doing more regular podcasts that answer some of the emails I get, as well as comments on the blog so if you want your site to be plugged on iTunes (we get thousands of downloads) then ask some questions in the comments section on our posts, get in touch with us on twitter (@OneLifeNoFear) or send us an email.

I have always believed that a short business plan is better than no business plan. And I believe that templates are very helpful when you’re considering writing a business plan. Based on my experience, very few entrepreneurs even get around to writing a business plan, so why not use a template if it makes the job easier? I also believe that for established businesses, a mini business plan can be better than the longer variety because the business owner is more likely to write a shorter version.
I guess it depends on the investors you are aiming your document at. If you are writing a plan to get investors/partners who know your industry then a short plan would suffice. I have also found that retail investors investors tire of long plans. However if you are looking for serious money, you need to be quite thorough.
I love this stuff! Your articles are cool! Thanks
I was trying to find a good scarface quote for this comment but most were “unsuitable” due to language

Business is a winding road with many forks so if you are going to invest time and money on the business plan, always remember that sticking to it is dangerous should outside opportunities present themselves.
Criticism is a good thing, it means people are starting take your business seriously.

Sure is…. as long as it’s not something like ‘What has the price of fish got to do with the Mongolian quarter horse’s hind leg” – which I am sure I will get similar from a bunch of spammers…. but anything sensible is cool…. and I will mention your URL on the podcast
Podcasting is a good idea. This way you can easily answer all emails in less time. I am hearing to this one right now.
