Sitting in your office or on your sofa worrying about your financial predicament will not help you get out of it. You have to start planning and take action. When you do this you have to have big desires. Saying ‘I want to be able to pay the bills‘ may be practical, but it is hardly inspiring. Reach for something motivational, something that will really kick you into gear.
I have just added a section called ‘Lifestyle’ in the menu bar. In that section I am going to share some of the things that you may want to aim for. Anything from short trips to mega yachts, these are some things that you may want to add to your list.
Don’t get me wrong here though, material things (see – I can sound condescending too) are nothing without balance in your life. Working towards just material things will see you a very unhappy person, but for now I am going assume you have downloaded my eBook ‘How to Become and Entrepreneur‘ and you are on your way to finding some balance in your life.
OK. Enough. Let’s have some fun. Here are some on my list:
1. Bigger House – Sanctuary Cove – Australia.
My house in ‘The Cove’ is nice but this one is lovely – Extensive use of bi-fold doors creating vast open spaces, Four bedrooms plus study, media room and gym, Separate formal/informal lounges and dining room, Automated blinds and timber bi-folds open to reveal massive fully screened poolside cabana – yours for $2.95 million.
Predator 92 Sport

Total awesomeness for $6mn. Funny how the boat that would be parked outside the house above would be more expensive then the bricks and mortar! Yachts are just something I am into. The freedom associated with getting out into the open sea and being able to travel just about anywhere appeals to me. Doing it in Sunseeker luxury, appeals even more. Budget $200,000 a year to run it.
Personal Fighter Jet – The Javelin
The existence of a market prepared to pay US$2.5 million for a two-seat jet aircraft capable of .925 Mach (1130 kmh) is now verified as the Aviation Technology Group (ATG) is holding 80 firm orders for the Javelin. Not the most practical thing in the world but for a busy entrepreneur wanting to get from one place to another fast… it is a must have. Of course you would have to employ a pilot, take flying lessons or… like I did… marry a pilot.
Caribbean Trip To Young Island
I was actually one of the owners of the hotel just opposite this one, but I always loved Young Island. If you expect 5 star luxury, this is not for you, but if you want a unique experience that gets you away from it all, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The people of St Vincent are absolutely awesome too. Be sure to check out Mustique (have a burger at Basil’s Bar), the Beleine Falls, Cobblestones Bar, Lous bar.. take the trip to Casino (if just for the ride) and go have a meal in the French Restaurant at Mariners (my old place)… Oh.. and make sure you go to the cocktail party (was on Wednesdays) which is on Rockfort (the island in the picture above Young Island)… it is an unforgettable experience.
So there are some ideas on goals to be getting on with. I will keep posting in this section when something takes my fancy. Like I have said you may not be into houses, boats and holidays like I am, but the point of this section is to try and show how you get motivated. Some may say that these ‘things’ are way out of their league, I would say that nothing is beyond you if you have the right beliefs, work ethic and a desire plan.

Just give me a sunseeker.. and I will retire from the Rat race , right now !
Sure thing, looking forward to it!
You get a staring role here Tom… hope it’s useful.. and thanks for the idea for a post! – http://onelifenofear.com/2010/05/limiting-beliefs-are-they-that-bad/
I agree personal goals should be set higher than just getting through the month, but your examples aim too high. How can you expect an ordinary person to aim for a jet when in reality maybe 0.001% of population can afford it. It’s a dream not likely to come true.
If you would give a fancy car for an example that would be enough, because it’s what the neighbor has, which means it’s not unachievable
Hi Tom, and thanks for your comment. I understand your point and agree that your goals have to be achievable within a time frame. But I fundamentally disagree that you should limit your goals. If you limit your goals to what the neighbor has then that is all you will ever have. The simple fact is that you are made up of the same physical parts as anyone who has any of these things so why shouldn’t you achieve them? I suggest you download ‘Becoming and Entrepreneur – Boot Camp’ and read about how to work with your beliefs and to banish limiting beliefs, believe me, it works. Thanks again for stopping by and commenting, I appreciate it.
I think i’ll do that, thanx. And about limiting yourself: I think it’s dangerous not to because one can easily go about dreaming instead of working hard to make it happen. Well I guess it all depends on what kind of person one is.
Hi Tom. I think what you are saying is an interesting viewpoint and I may just cover this in a post. Many people will limit themselves because they are being practical, like you say, they have a belief that ‘If I aim to high I will be daydreaming, not working’. The point here is the difference between a ‘dream’ and a ‘goal’… Thanks for the comments Tom. I think I will write a post on this issue today.
