I Want To Be a Billionaire

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On July - 20 - 2010
I think sometimes it is worth having a little laugh at ourselves. I was sent this video which I found not only to be an excellent tune but embarrassingly enough I related to it and and had to have a chuckle. I have a few posts coming up on a project I have been working on which has produced 20,000 members in 1 week. Read the rest of this entry »

I have always said that as true entrepreneur you should not only be looking to further yourself, but use your unique set of skills to help others. So I have been practicing what I preach and have got involved with an event to help the homeless here in Australia. Read the rest of this entry »

Ben Lang – Podcast Interview with a Young Entrepreneur

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On June - 15 - 2010
Young Entrepreneurs are a fascinating bunch and I enjoy talking to them mainly because they encapsulate a lot of what being an entrepreneur is; free thinking, full of energy and seeing limitless opportunities. Many older entrepreneurs I know are a little jaded and are too quick to write off an idea because of a previous ‘experience’ and so they rob themselves of the very spark that often got them to where they are now. Is Passion Important in Business?

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On June - 5 - 2010
Business is something that can seem boring to the outsider. What I mean by the ‘outsider’ is someone who is a bit of a corporate and doesn’t really understand the passion with which entrepreneurs approach business. Read the rest of this entry »

Entrepreneurs Lessons: Yaro Starak At The Hive

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On June - 4 - 2010
I popped over to Yaro’s blog this morning,(as I usually do- it is awesome) and on his sidebar found something that made my day. Before I show you that… background story; I started OneLifeNoFear about a year ago and while I was learning about blogging I came across Yaro’s site. I found it through a podcast on iTunes. Since then I have followed Yaro’s blog and teachings.

Building a hotel in the Caribbean was fraught with danger. Each day at least one worker would threaten to ‘mash’ me up while waving a machete in my general direction. A local crime figure turned up at our half built hotel at 3am in the morning, drunk with five or six equally drunk and high hangers on demanding money and one of our English staff had a rock thrown at his head outside a nightclub. New Regulations May Hurt Start-Ups

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On May - 21 - 2010
I predicted in a guest post on another blog that the banking crisis would cause a knee-jerk reaction from regulators who, as usual, would totally screw things up. Lo and behold along comes the proposed ‘Financial reform Bill’. Now, don’t get me wrong, there needs to be reform in the financial industry, I would go along with that. Naked short selling, complex derivatives that don’t really achieve much and massive leverage need to be sorted out. Read the rest of this entry »

Auckland – Surprise in The South

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On May - 17 - 2010
I am sitting a cafe being serenaded by Sinatra’s ‘My Way’, however it is not the dulcet tones of my favorite crooner it is entirely in Japanese! So, to borrow someone else’s phrase, ‘Where in the world is David?’, some exotic Japanese island?… No. I happen to be in Auckland, New Zealand. Read the rest of this entry »

Limiting Beliefs – Are They That Bad?

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On May - 6 - 2010
Yesterday I posted ‘Objects of Desire and Why You Need Them‘ from which I expected to get some comments that talked about recession, maybe a few about being too material etc. But the first comment was from Tom who made a very good point and something that I wanted to cover today. Objects of Desire – And Why You Need Them.

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On May - 5 - 2010
At any time of financial struggle it becomes unfashionable to talk about ‘things’. You know ‘material possessions’ as they are called when we are trying to show that we don’t value them. The fact is that unless you have a desire to achieve something or acquire something, it is unlikely you will. Make sense? Read the rest of this entry »

About Me

My name is David, I am very happily married and have one step son. We moved to Switzerland 4 years ago as we love the country, it is a hub of entrepreneurship, the people are fabulous and the skiing is not bad either, and right now we are touring Asutralia.

This blog is about passing on some of the strategies I have learned in 20 years as an entrepreneur, from running a commodities operation producing $300mn per year of business to the challenges of owning a small hotel on a tiny Caribbean island and many businesses inbetween.

Others coaches are excellent at reading books and distilling the content for you, that is great if that is what you are looking for. I give you practical advice through my own successes and mistakes. I hope you find the blog useful.
