I Want To Be a Billionaire

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On July - 20 - 2010
I think sometimes it is worth having a little laugh at ourselves. I was sent this video which I found not only to be an excellent tune but embarrassingly enough I related to it and and had to have a chuckle. I have a few posts coming up on a project I have been working on which has produced 20,000 members in 1 week. Read the rest of this entry »

Posted by Jon On July - 14 - 2010
Why make videos in the first place?

If you have a website, you need to start making videos for it! It opens your content, products and/or services up to a whole new mass of people. People who might not have heard of you otherwise. With a video done right, they may even tell their friends about it… if you are extremely lucky… your video may also go viral giving you worldwide exposure even and some serious affiliate/advertising dollars in the process! The thought of social networking and online marketing can easily overwhelm older entrepreneurs. But these arenas are critical to business success for digital and non-digital natives alike. It’s easy for myth and media frenzy to obscure the reality for older entrepreneurs: There’s a place for them at the table. Read the rest of this entry »

Avoid Taking Lessons On Entrepreneuring From The Wrong Person(s)

Posted by Tayo Solagbade On June - 11 - 2010
When You Don’t Have A Mind Of Your Own, Everybody Becomes Your Adviser

There was one thing common to most of the people who kept offering me advice, that I gradually came to realize – especially after following some of it and suffering unbelievable hardship as a result. It was the fact that few (if any) of them had done what I was trying to do before – or even knew anyone who had, remotely.

Developing a small business into a successful enterprise demands more than passion. Unfortunately, facts speak for themselves. Since then I have followed Yaro’s blog and teachings.

New Regulations May Hurt Start-Ups

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On May - 21 - 2010
I predicted in a guest post on another blog that the banking crisis would cause a knee-jerk reaction from regulators who, as usual, would totally screw things up. Lo and behold along comes the proposed ‘Financial reform Bill’. Now, don’t get me wrong, there needs to be reform in the financial industry, I would go along with that. Naked short selling, complex derivatives that don’t really achieve much and massive leverage need to be sorted out. Read the rest of this entry »

Auckland – Surprise in The South

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On May - 17 - 2010
I am sitting a cafe being serenaded by Sinatra’s ‘My Way’, however it is not the dulcet tones of my favorite crooner it is entirely in Japanese! So, to borrow someone else’s phrase, ‘Where in the world is David?’, some exotic Japanese island?… No. I happen to be in Auckland, New Zealand. Read the rest of this entry »

Going Public – Grab Your Chips It’s Casino Time!

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On March - 25 - 2010
One of the things that may surprise many people about entrepreneurs is that most know nothing about the stock market. You would think that entrepreneurs would be up on everything IPO or reverse merger but very few, in my experience, have any clue about what can be done or indeed, what should be done when it comes to thinking about the markets. So let me take you on a magical mystery tour of the worlds greatest casino. I could write forever on this subject so I am going to split it up into a number of posts. Read the rest of this entry »

Step By Step Guide To Starting an Online Business

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On December - 30 - 2009
The searching for ‘starting an online business’ can get very confused at the massive amount of information (sometimes conflicting) that is out there. Once in a while you come across something so simple it is quite inspiring. I am quite a visual person, meaning that pictures and video appeal to me more than sounds and text. Although I devour books I am not a big fan of reading tomes of Internet Marketing articles because, in my experience, most of them are a bit too fluffy and short on substance. There are some exceptions of course, but on the whole there is a lot of re-packaged ‘advice’ on the web. Read the rest of this entry »

About Me

My name is David, I am very happily married and have one step son. We moved to Switzerland 4 years ago as we love the country, it is a hub of entrepreneurship, the people are fabulous and the skiing is not bad either, and right now we are touring Asutralia.

This blog is about passing on some of the strategies I have learned in 20 years as an entrepreneur, from running a commodities operation producing $300mn per year of business to the challenges of owning a small hotel on a tiny Caribbean island and many businesses inbetween.

Others coaches are excellent at reading books and distilling the content for you, that is great if that is what you are looking for. I give you practical advice through my own successes and mistakes. I hope you find the blog useful.
