How to hit 500 000 Video Views!

Posted by Jon On July - 14 - 2010
Why make videos in the first place?

If you have a website, you need to start making videos for it! It opens your content, products and/or services up to a whole new mass of people. People who might not have heard of you otherwise. With a video done right, they may even tell their friends about it… if you are extremely lucky… your video may also go viral giving you worldwide exposure even and some serious affiliate/advertising dollars in the process! The thought of social networking and online marketing can easily overwhelm older entrepreneurs. But these arenas are critical to business success for digital and non-digital natives alike. It’s easy for myth and media frenzy to obscure the reality for older entrepreneurs: There’s a place for them at the table. Read the rest of this entry »

Building Links And How The Top Bloggers Can Help You

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On November - 24 - 2009
I never really understood the link building process of an online business until I read somewhere that each link ‘is like a vote for you in Google’s ranks. The ones with the most quality votes get top billing’. This made sense to me so I went about the link building process and will be using outsourcing to keep this process going (in fact to lift it beyond my efforts). I did, however, want to see how other sites ranked on links to their site so I downloaded a link checker and started delving through. Read the rest of this entry »

Offline Entrepreneurs – Blog It!

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On September - 9 - 2009
Judging by the emails I get, many of the people who read this blog are offline entrepreneurs, people who have a business, or who have had an offline business and now want to parle those skills into the online environment. I asked John Chow in my interview what would be the advice he would give to them to dip their toe in the Internet waters. His advice? Start a blog. Read the rest of this entry »

Entrepreneurs – Be Careful of Internet BS

Posted by David@OneLifeNoFear On August - 20 - 2009
I was listening to various podcasts today and I swear I am having an epiphany almost everyday listening to these things. What I am discovering is that most of the language that Internet marketers talk, on a daily basis, is just the web 2.0 version of what entrepreneurs have been doing since someone invented the wheel…… Read the rest of this entry »

Communicate With TweetBoard's Killer App

Posted by TheMarketMaker On June - 29 - 2009
Talk To Us With TweetBoard – “The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives”. Anthony Robbins was more than right when he said this and if you really want to be successful in business, online or offline, this is one thing you must take to heart. Communication is pretty much at the core of everything you do to be successful. Read the rest of this entry »

The FaceBook Username Rush

Posted by TheMarketMaker On June - 13 - 2009
The Facebook gold rush for user names went ahead this morning and already we are seeing the fallout. Twitter is a blaze with “%$^* I didn’t get my name” etc and, amusingly, some in the web marketing community are ticked off that keywords were taken before they could get to them, one web market saying ‘he isn’t even one of us and he only has 100 backlinks, what a waste’ about the guy who got makemoneyonline as his username. Digg Vs Twitter – Who D'Man?

Posted by TheMarketMaker On June - 9 - 2009
The Digg Vs Twitter debate is something I am hearing more and more recently. The argument tends to go something like this:

“Digg is great but is dominated by the big players and Internet gurus who know how to ‘work the system’ whereas Twitter is more democratic and gives bloggers a better chance of getting a loyal following”

About Me

My name is David, I am very happily married and have one step son. We moved to Switzerland 4 years ago as we love the country, it is a hub of entrepreneurship, the people are fabulous and the skiing is not bad either, and right now we are touring Asutralia.

This blog is about passing on some of the strategies I have learned in 20 years as an entrepreneur, from running a commodities operation producing $300mn per year of business to the challenges of owning a small hotel on a tiny Caribbean island and many businesses inbetween.

Others coaches are excellent at reading books and distilling the content for you, that is great if that is what you are looking for. I give you practical advice through my own successes and mistakes. I hope you find the blog useful.
