<itunes:summary>Young Entrepreneurs are a fascinating bunch and I enjoy talking to them mainly because they encapsulate a lot of what being an entrepreneur is; free thinking, full of energy and seeing limitless opportunities. Many older entrepreneurs I know are a little jaded and are too quick to write off an idea because of a previous 'experience' and so they rob themselves of the very spark that often got them to where they are now. In this podcast we interview teenage entrepreneur Ben Lang and discuss this growing group of action takers.</itunes:summary>

One of the challenges I had to face as a start-up entrepreneur was that of trying to intelligently sort out the wheat(useful stuff) from the "chaff" (nonsense) in the relentless barrage of mostly unsolicited advice I got from various quarters. Almost every one had one tip or the other - or dos and donts - to offer me. Quite frequently, they found reason to offer me advice soon AFTER they saw that I had - again - fallen flat on my face trying out a new plan aimed at achieving my intended purpose. It was quite difficult deciding who to listen to, or take seriously. In this article I share the insights I gained from learning to deal - quite effectively - with this problem.

Each day at least one worker would threaten to 'mash' me up while waving a machete in my general direction.

I predicted in a guest post on another blog that the banking crisis would cause a knee-jerk reaction from regulators who, as usual, would totally screw things up. Lo and behold along comes the proposed 'Financial reform Bill'. Now, don't get me wrong, there needs to be reform in the financial industry, I would go along with that. Naked short selling, complex derivatives that don't really achieve much and massive leverage need to be sorted out.
